Yorkshire Lavender
I came across these pictures the other day and thought I would write a post about our day trip to Yorkshire Lavender near York ( about 30 min by car) last July. I took my mum and auntie to celebrate my auntie’s 74th birthday.
About Yorkshire Lavender
It is a 60-acre hillside family farm featuring lavender gardens, specialist plant shop, tea room and a sculpture park just outside Terrington in Yorkshire. There is also a Lavender Maze and a little play area for kids and a Deer Park.
Upon arrival the fragrance of the lavender hits you as soon as you get out of the car. It’s not a big place but well worth a visit if you are a lavender lover like me.
We enjoyed walking around lavender with its stunning array of different colours, from white through a complete range of blues, lilacs to magnificent deep purples.
Walking through the Lavender Maze inhaling the beautiful scent of lavender was equally fun for us and my son who enjoyed hiding in and skipping (cheating!) through the rows of lavender to find the way out of the maze.
You can buy lots of lavender related products including dry lavender, bath products and lavender oil and many more in the shop and many plants and herbs in their plant nursery.
Enjoy a delicious lavender scone with lavender and blueberry conserve with lashings of whipped cream at their tea room. Yummy!
Finally to walk off that scone, go for a stroll around the grounds and enjoy the stunning views surrounding the site. You might even spot a deer if you are lucky..
Lovely little place to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed it. For more information visit their website.
