Hello there, welcome to my blog!
My name is Martina and I’m the photographer and travel writer behind Snap and Saunter, the outdoor travel blog.
Every day I am inspired by nature. It’s great being outdoors! I particularly like woodlands and mountains, that’s where I am happiest. On the blog, you will find articles about my walks, trips and everything outdoors mainly in the UK but also abroad.
I was born in Prague, Czech Republic and moved to the UK in 1997. After spending 15 years in London and 9 years in Sheffield, I moved with my family to Highland Perthshire in Scotland in January 2022. I look forward to exploring Scotland in the upcoming years. We also love Wales where we go often to visit our family.
On Snap and Saunter – Outdoor travel blog I focus on the following:
♣ Walking and Hiking in the UK and Abroad | I share with you my favourite places to walk whether in Britain or abroad. I try to give as accurate information as possible on my walks accompanied by my photographs. I may or may not include a video of the walk too. If possible, I will also include GPX route details which you can download for free. I am very passionate about promoting the outdoors as it is so beneficial to our physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.
♦ Detailed Destination Guides | From time to time I also go on road trips such as North Coast 500 in Scotland with my family. I tell you about my favourite destinations we explore. Most of the time they are based on spending as much time as possible outdoors but may as well include towns and culture of the particular region.
♥ Promoting Wildlife & Nature | I am a keen wildlife and nature photographer. I am fascinated by all the animals and beautiful plants living on our fabulous planet. Wildlife photography is not easy, I love the challenge of it and I am always thrilled when I take a good photo. More than ever, I think that it’s very important to promote wildlife and nature nowadays.

Loch Tay Hikers – free walking group in Perthshire
I also organise local walks around the Loch Tay in Perthshire, Scotland. The group is called Loch Tay Hikers and it is a free social walking group. If you want to stretch your legs, meet new people and get to know the area, join us on one of our walks.
