Bondville Model Village
Bondville Model Village is a miniature masterpiece with over 200 unique buildings, working harbour including a castle, ruined Abbey and a miniature train all set in an acre of landscape gardens. It was created in 1987 and it took 2 years to build. Everything has been build to 1:12 scale and is in proportion. The attention to detail is amazing.
You are in for a Treat!
We spend a lovely Saturday afternoon here after our visit to Sewerby Hall and Gardens. It was a gorgeous sunny day which was only an addition to our pleasant experience.
At the entrance, you are given a quiz sheet which does not follow a pattern, allowing you to wander back and forth along a curving path set in beautiful gardens, marvelling at the detail of the miniature figures. The fun quiz is not that easy but it enables you to look properly around the village to complete it.
Bondville model village must be seen to be appreciated by young and old alike!
The village is open daily from 1st April to 16h September 2018 and costs only £4 for adult, £2.50 for a child or a family ticket for £10. It is CASH only. It is push chair and wheel chair friendly and dogs are also allowed (must be on lead). Check their website for more information and events.
There is also a Gift Shop and a Garden Tea Room which we haven’t visited but apparently it is pretty good.
By the way, the rook sitting on the castle is REAL! 🙂 It does go together, doesn’t it? ↓
If you don’t want to walk you can get to Bonville by Land Train from Bridlington promenade, the Model Village is one of its stops.
If you are in or near Bridlington, go and see it. I highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed.
