PEAK DISTRICT

SUGARY LONGSHAW, DERBYSHIRE

FEBRUARY 2018 WALK EVERY DAY CHALLENGE  – DAY 2

I didn’t have much time today so I decided to go to Longshaw and do the easy, circular Orange Route. I got there at about 11am. It was very cold, overcast and quite dark. It was lightly snowing all the way. The land was powdered by snow. It was virtually empty and I have seen probably 4 people in total!

Distance: 1.7 miles | 2.7 kilometers
Level: Circular, Easy, Push chair friendly

Longshaw lies just over the hill from Sheffield on the eastern edge of the Peak District. It offers long views across the moors and gritstone outcrops above the Derwent Valley. Ancient woods, meadows and streams are all easy to find and explore.

I saw a bear!

Ducks on the frozen lake. Don’t you think they just need stripy scarves and ice skates? 🙂
