LONGSHAW’S GUIDED WALK
Today I went to Longshaw for their guided walk again. This was my 3rd time going on a walk with them. You can read about my first walk here and about my second walk with them here. Walks take place on every Wednesday and Sunday at 11am, meet up at the outside the cafe. They are usually about 2 hours long. They are free, you don’t have to be a member of National Trust. Just turn up.
I really liked the walk today. It is always nice to meet new people. These walks do routes which I wouldn’t probably do by myself. I haven’t done this particular walk before so it was a bonus.
From the cafe we walked down along the (still frozen) lake with ducks skating on top of it, passed the Granby barn, and across the road to Burbage. Then we crossed the little bridge there and went straight up to Owler Tor. We crossed the road again and went through the Surprise View car park and to the right up to Upper Owler Tor. From there we went back to Longshaw cafe through the heather – just imagine it all purple when it is time. I will definitely be back for that!

I had lunch in the cafe and it was nearly time to pick my son up from school. Brilliant walk. I enjoyed it very much. Try these guided walks, you won’t be disappointed.
